You snooze, you lose – that saying is certainly true if you’ve ever tried to book a Christmas meal at the very last minute. With last month’s Halloween festivities proving that Hong Kong is now adjusting to a new normal, we can only predict how busy this festive season will be. Get a head start in planning your Christmas starting with an unforgettable Christmas Feast! We list five gastronomical experiences that will make this year’s Christmas extra special.

Porterhouse Seafood & Steak

Located on the seventh floor of California Tower and featuring indoor and alfresco seating, the venue’s atmosphere evokes a timeless elegance making for the perfect setting for those looking to celebrate this Christmas in style.

Porterhouse Seafood & Steak will offer a six-course set dinner menu on 24 and 25 December, priced at HK888 per person. Guests will first be welcomed with Quail Egg with beef rillette and spinach sponge, topped with caviar. Other delectable dishes include Chestnuts Soup topped with shaved winter black truffle and porcini mushroom dust; Truffle & Goose Liver Cappelletti “Tortellini” served in a bowl of capon consommé with and a touch of onion cream; Langoustine Tail served with cauliflower puree, crispy samphire tempura and caviar; and Venison Loin with carrots puree, oats crumble red cabbage and blackcurrant sauce on the side.

The four-course Christmas dinner menu is available on 24 and 25 December, both nights, and is priced at HK$880 per person; while the three-course Christmas lunch menu is available on Christmas Day, 25 December, only, and is priced at HK$780 per person. One of the festive mains includes the slow-cooked turkey breast served with cranberry ketchup, pickled cherries and vanilla roasted parsnips. Make sure to stay for the Forbidden Fruit, a red chocolate mirror glazed “apple” with coffee gelato, apple mousse and Limoncello cream filling, served on top of a shortbread biscuit when ordering from the Christmas set menu and the Tiramisu for the Christmas set lunch!

GRAIN Gastropub & Brewery in Kennedy Town has put together a hearty family roast menu to celebrate Christmas. The special Christmas Roast menu is available during dinner on 24 and 25 December; as well as lunch on 25 and 26 December, and it is priced at HK$380 per person.

Inspired by the traditional Sunday roast, guests can choose from a selection of roast meats, including succulent herb-smoked USDA turkey with sourdough gravy; or the “char siu” smoked and glazed ham. All roast meals come with a selection of side dishes, including plum and cranberry sauce; grilled broccolini with chestnut butter and crispy bacon and roasted potatoes; malted roasted heritage carrots and parsnips; and pork beer malt with sage and onion stuffing. End this hearty meal with a chocolate and stout cheesecake and mini pecan pies.
